ASSESSMENT

An initial clinical assessment is undertaken to determine the most appropriate treatment. This may include gait analysis, taking measurements, and casting or scanning the leg/foot. We ask that clients allow up to an hour for this assessment. Referrals are welcome, however not essential.

We ask that clients wear loose fitting clothing for their assessment. Please bring any previously worn orthotics and current footwear.

We will discuss with clients their personalised treatment plan prior to proceeding.

FABRICATION

Following the assessment, the selected device will be custom-made in The Orthotics Lab’s own workshop or outsourced to a third party. This process may take several weeks, depending on complexity. Refer to our Products page to see the various custom-made orthoses we provide.

FITTING AND FOLLOW-UP

Please bring shoes and socks and allow up to an hour for this appointment. The orthosis will be fitted, with the Orthotist making adjustments to optimise comfort and performance.

Orthosis Wear and Care Guidelines will be provided.

A follow-up appointment will be scheduled following your fitting to monitor your progress.
